Dr. Gerald Skees
Veterinarian
Dr. Gerald Skees recalls chatting with his father about the future after he had finished up his time in the United States Army. Dr. Skees’s father told him that he himself had always dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, and he asked his son if he had ever considered the profession. That conversation set in motion a journey that continues to this day—Dr. Skees has been helping pets and their owners as a veterinarian for more than 43 years!
Destiny
Veterinary Assistant
Destiny has always been fascinated by medicine and was even on her way to becoming a registered nurse at one time. When she took a step back and thought about it, though, she knew that something didn’t feel quite right. That’s when she realized that she wanted to put her medical skills and her knack for helping others to use helping animals in the veterinary world! Destiny hasn’t looked back since, and she’s proud to now serve as a veterinary assistant here at Family Pet Hospital.
Sydney
Veterinary Technician
Growing up, Sydney had an array of pets ranging from cats and dogs to bunnies and reptiles. This made her not only someone who loves animals, but who also wants to help care for the ones in need. In addition to loving her work in the veterinary field, Sydney says she enjoys the people she works with, and the challenges and rewards involved in providing care to pets and their families.
Alicia
Kennel Technician
Growing up Alicia always had lots of pets: dogs, cats, tortoises, small parrots, fish, and even an armadillo. But she was especially close to a playful, funny boxer puppy she was given at age seven, and her experience caring for all those animals inspired a desire to work in the veterinary field from a young age.
In addition to working around pets all day, Alicia says she loves being around others who love animals as much as she does. Her favorite part of the job is helping families learn how to better take care of their pets.
Peggy
Groomer
Growing up, Peggy’s family always had pets and she started caring for them at a young age. She trained as a groomer in the 1970s and says she hasn’t looked back—which means your pets are getting the benefit of over 40 years of grooming experience!
Peggy has been with Family Pet Hospital since 2012 and says she loves the family atmosphere, the great staff, working for Dr. Skees, and of course, all her loyal clients and their pets!
Tara
Grooming Assistant
Tara grew up loving and caring for pets. Working here at Family Pet Hospital is fun & she really likes working with all the animals. The staff here and the loyal clients are some of her favorite things.
