When does your pet need urgent care? Unlike a true health emergency (such as a pet being struck by a vehicle or ingesting poison), our urgent care team is here to help when your pet’s issue isn’t life-threatening but shouldn’t wait for a regular vet appointment during business hours.
Generally, if your pet is experiencing any of the following issues, it’s best to bring them to see us right away:
- Whimpering or crying in pain
- Profuse bleeding from cuts or punctures
- Blood in urine, stool, or vomit
- Repeated episodes of vomiting and/or diarrhea
- Abdomen is bloated, hard, and/or painful
- You pet is suddenly confused or lethargic
- Seizures, “freezes up”, or loses consciousness
- Pet can’t stand or walk
- 24 hours without eating or drinking
- Is having problems during labor or delivery
This isn’t a complete list, so if your pet doesn’t have any of the symptoms above but you still believe that he or she is experiencing an urgent or emergency health condition, it’s best not to take chances—bring them in right away. If possible, we ask that you call us at (770) 928-9094 before you arrive so our team can prepare to see your pet.
